Port Authority of NY/NJ Takes Over Stewart Airport in Orange County NY

Starting this week, the operations of Stewart Airport in Orange County NY will be under the control of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

The Port Authority plans to budget $17 million dollars to expand the airport's parking facilities and to accommodate for an increase in passengers.

The move was made by the Port Authority to address and ease the overcrowding conditions for passengers at JFK, La Guardia and Newark airports.

Derrick - This will be great news for the Hudson Valley. With 17 million dollars in the budget this should also provide some local job opportunities, and other businesses in the area should also benefit. I also like the convenience.

Jennifer -The take over of Stewart International Airport by the PA of NY/NJ is good news for the area. Orange County will legitimately be looked at as part of the NY Metropolitan area as an access point to NYC.
