I saw in one house where instead of running wiring through a conduit up in the attic, they just used an extension cord!
Michael, all kidding aside those things are extremely dangerous. I only have found one of them and I got permission to cut both ends off of it. When I was in art school I did a series of "conceptual art" pieces where various non-electrical things were made to look like they were wired and plugged into a receptacle.
Michael: Just when I think I've seen it all. It's call creative wiring that should have a big DANGER sign attached.
Congratulations on the feature.

Wow, I am not sure if I should laugh or cry! This is too much ... LOL!
I want one! It looks safer than the arrangement in a home I showed today....
Hi Michael, Congrats on the feature. This would be funny if it were not so prevalent out there. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.
But wait, call NOW or in the next five minutes, and you can get some wonderful Ginsu knives that can cut both shoe leather and tomatoes! Nice post...
Not sure if the person should be punished or hail for his great imagination. Either is still not a good practise.
Michael - I's just like to know what your face looked like when you discovered this - not sure if you smiled because it was so ridiculous or frowned in frustration. It's so bad, it's funny...in a bad way - lol!
They just did that for you! It is National Fire Prevention Month and all.
Oh my, that reminds me of a sit-ye-a-tion I had with some of my renters once. They decided to rip out a light fixture from the bathroom vanity then preceded to call the city inspector due to what was behind the whole. Turns out a previous owner used an extension cord plugged into an outlet in the attic, cut off the end and hard wired the other end to the light fixture over the vanity. And I got the write up! Oh the joys of being a land lord.
Always scares me when I see someone use a jumper to get power on to a foreclosure that has had the power shut off. Until I know why the power was interupted it scares me to "fire" it up.
Michael - What do you say to your client when you see something like this? Do you laugh or cry?
hahaha wow, I do not thing I've ever seen anything like that before hahaha :)
I think electrical things are the easiest for a homeowner to mess up because even Walmart sells lots of cool electrical products that don't require a user manual. LOL
Howdy and evening Michael
Michael, folks sure do come up with some really off the wall ideas at times, on how to do things.
Have a good one

Hi,
This steals the show!
That's a job of a creative Electrician with extra… extra… imagination.
Thanks for laugh.
I don't get it, what does this accomplish? It just looks so wrong.
Hi Michael~ Didn't I see that on the home shopping network? If you ordered two for just $19.99, they would send you six for the same low price!
Astounding!
Oh my gosh, these home inspection kinda photos of the wacky things people do always crack me up!
