There’s No Place like Home in Camas Washington!

We just got home form a whirlwind trip to the East Coast. My husband’s family lives in Maryland and we all gathered for a lovely wedding in Annapolis. It was my first time seeing the Chesapeake There's No Place like Home in Camas, WashingtonBay, which, by the way is fabulous.

We ate blue crabs, dined out, danced at a yacht club, and enjoyed the teasing interactions between the siblings of a large family. It was an entertaining and fun experience for this West Coast native.

There's No Place like Home in Camas, WashingtonHowever, as much fun as it was, I’m so grateful to be home. I’ve been wearing my blue jeans and comfy boots since I got back, my dress up clothes and heels are back in the closet where they belong (at least for a while).

I’ve missed the familiar. The comfortable and casual lifestyle in Camas suits me. There’s little traffic, lots of room and plenty of smiles. Yes, it's fun to go on exciting adventures, but “there’s no place like home in Camas, Washington!

I've heard about the traffic on the east coast and I do have to say I miss home when I go to big cities like Seattle.

Hi!  I've been camping out at Chesapeake Bay at it was fabulous!   I have some friends on the west coast that tell me we are a bit uptight here on the east coast! LOL.   Glad you had fun.

A- I'm a West coast woman through and through. Enough said. ;)

Todd- it's the drivers that are scary. Wow, they really don't care who they mow down or run into.  Yikes. They're all in a huge hurry.

Cal- I actually like and enjoyed most everyone that I met.  It's more of a busy vibe that seems to exist - hurry and go, hurry and wait, hurry and go.

Judi, I know you'd appreicate the Ruby Ugg's. :) Seattle woman that you are...

John - yes! These boots are made for relaxing and that's just what they'll do....:)

Craig, if I was as clever as you are - I could have transformed myself into Dorothy. :)

Tammy - it was a jaunt. I could have gone to Hawaii. :) :) Oh well, I had a great time and I do enjoy my husbands' great big family. It was a blast and yes, blue crabs - mmmm.

Debb, having grown up on the east coast for the first half of my life, I can honestly say, we're less aggressive and more "relaxed" out here, too. Not as many people, not as deep a history as the east coast, but we ALL have things that are wonderful, just like what you've said about Camas!

Welcome home, Dorothy. (Didn't need to catch the bouquet, either since you've got your Man already!)

Debb,

Mant time being away from your own home will make you miss it and appreciate it even more. Sounds like you folks had a really good time on the East Coast but your blog is also a good marketing tool telling folks why you like to live there. Thanks for the blog and commenting on my blogs.

Gayle - My dear pal...we've just caught up on one another's happenings. How fun was that? You are my outdoor soui sister. :)

Hi Anita, it was a delightful trip and a bit exhausting. Ha ha - weddings are fun, but the 5 days of activities was more than this girl can handle. :)

Bob - you read between the lines. Clever you. :) :)

Your trip sounds wonderful Debb but I completely understand your excitement to be home.  There is something about being home that feels similar to an old comfy robe.  We can wrap up in it and just release all of the stress that comes with traveling these days.  Glad to have you back and wish you could have joined "the girls" in Colorado!

Debb - and we missed you! Isn't Maryland a beautiful state?! However, I get it and even when I was in Turks and Caicos by the last day I was ready to come home............and especially put on my comfy clothes which consist of PG bottoms, no make up and a T-shirt. You wouldn't even recognize me - lol!

Hi Debb, welcome home and sounds like you had a great trip. As a former Long Islander, I can say there is a huge difference in many things. People here actually stop to let you walk across the street, they bag your groceries for you without expecting a tip...and getting your hair cut doesn't create angst on how much you need to tip the washer , the sweeper girl, and whomever else it was required to give a tip to. Yeah...life is good in the Pacific NW.

Debb, while I love our Maryland blue crabs, the stuff on the west coast is totally amazing.  And don't get me started on your oysters!

Rebekah - adventures are wonderful and I really do love to travel - but this time, really was ready for the west coast. :)

Mimi - love you and we have already exchanged emails.

Kristine - Chesapeake Bay is gorgeous and so is Annapolis - cute little capitol. But, there's no place like home and I also missed AR - (I'll bet you still look good in your comfy clothes.)

I hear ya Cindy. I didn't want to get into those differences  - so thanks for doing it for me. :)

Patricia - Aw, willapa bay oysters to be specific.  Oysters

Me too Joan. Loved the adventure and all the in laws - they are a great bunch and really fun to hang out with - wish I could move them all to the west coast.
