Networking is an important part of prospecting for new business. In the real estate business, we not only network with the general public in search of new potential clients, but we network with other agents.
Real estate agents, especially buyer agents, are a prime group for every listing agent to network. There are many ways to make this happen. One very easy avenue is the weekly agent tour of homes in your town. Town tour is a method of “killing two birds with one stone.”
All of the players are in attendance, and networking is easy, especially if breakfast or brunch is being served. It’s an opportunity to discuss property and who has a potential buyer for that property. It’s also an easy way to preview new listings.
If you’re a listing agent and you want to increase activity at your listing, participate in town tour. Make yourself known; partake in seeing the listings of others; talk to other agents about showing your listings. In this business, one good turn deserves another, doesn’t it?
Agents need to rely on buyer agents for their help in showing listings. Buyer agents have the buyers, and all listing agents need to promote and support their efforts. Cooperation is very important in this market. Promote buyer agents showing your listings, and you’ll notice a surge in your income.
