Pumpkins and gourdsClarksville's Bonnybrook Farms Hosting Pumpkin & Gourd Festivals in October!

Want another family friendly event for fall family fun?  How about taking a trip out State Route 132 to Bonnybrook Farms!  They're hosting the Pumpkin & Gourd Festival over the next three weekends (October 8/9, 15/16 & 22/23) from noon- 5:30 p.m.  They're easy to get to and you'll get a nice drive in the country to enjoy the fall foliage.

So what do they have going on?  A great mix of FREE and paid activities!

Under the FREE category:  The Great Pumpkin Hunt, a petting zoo, a farmyard play area, swings, a hill with an 80' underground tunnel slide, and some other pumpkin related activities!  Now if you want to open up your wallet, there's plenty more to do!

Cost:

They offer a Buy the Farm ticket for $17 (Hayride, Corn Maze, Clodhopper Golf and some shots on the Giant Slingshot!). But if you want to go a la carte, the here's the menu:

Hayride $8 (3 and under free)

Corn Maze $6 (3 and under free....but I wouldn't be counting on their directional skills to get you out!)

Clodhopper Golf  $3

Hand-held Pony Ride $2 or 2/$6 (must be at LEAST 36" tall)

Giant Slingshot $3/7 shots

Pumpkin Painting $4 and includes the pumpkin

Now if you want a late adventure, try the Lantern Light Wagon Rides, dusk until 10:30 p.m. on SATURDAYS only!  $8, children 4-5 are $3, 3 and under free.  And just a heads up, it might be a wee bit scary considering it's October!

Directions:

From I71, you take the SR123 Exit (Fort Ancient) and head east.  When you get to SR132, turn left and look for Bonnybrook Farms at 3779 SR 132, Clarksville OH 45113. If you're coming from I-275, you might prefer taking the SR28 exit and heading northeast until SR132 splits off to the left.  Once you cross SR123 you'll know you're close!

For more information, visit the Bonnybrook Farms website or call 937.289.2500.

We hope you have a great time!

Dorie, They're a number of local farms/nurseries taking advantage of the fall weather/pumpkins to host these annual events.  They're obviously family friendly and get great turnouts.

Kathy, We try to make our area appealing :)

Hi Bliz, You certainly have a lot of Fun Time activities going on for the month of October. That 80 foot underground tunnel slide will have to be for the younger generations, that might be a bit to much for me, but the visiting the zoo would be more of my speed.

Jerry, The tunnel slide through a hillside would be a blast, but the really appealing thing?  Go to the website, then photo gallery and find the giant slingshot.  The medieval warriors would be proud :)

BLiz: This sounds like a wonderful family event and a great way to build lasting memories with the young ones, especially if they get to pick out the pumpkins.

Jennifer, Hope this weekend's weather is more cooperative for you!

Anita, There's certainly a lot of opportunity for memory making, and conceivably families could try out a different farm every weekend, there's enough to easily do that in our area :)

Liz & Bill even at the high end of $17  you get a lot for you money....and even the Free option has a lot to offer. I guess if I had a large family the Free would be a great option...

Anne, Thanks!  We try to advocate for our area as a great place to live!

Michael, Thanks!  Our local tourism group coined the phrase "Warren County - Ohio's Largest Playground".  They pretty much got that right, and we get the benefit of helping them promote why :)
