8 Comments on Half Marathon Training: One Month Away From the Monroe Parks Half Marathon
As I've told my many friends who are avid runners... - I truly admire the discipline that comes with being a runner. Best of luck on your marathon, Scotti.
Thanks a bunch, Faith!
I hope your half-marathon goes well. I am also a runner. I have completed half-marathon and marathons. I enjoy the half-marathon more than the full one but both have their rewards. The training is the most important part of the process. Best of luck to you!
I admire your determination and strength Scotti! Do you have a certain time you'd like to be under? Do you wear those glove shoes yet?
John- I really got roped into this by my wife, but I am enjoying the process. Not sure if I'll tackle a full marathon or not.
Kerrie- Thanks for the kind words. I would love to be under 2:10:00, but I would have to average under 10 mins/mile. So far my average on longer runs is around 9:45/mile, but I haven't gone farther than 7 miles yet. Can't do the "glove shoes". No medial support and I'm an overpronator!
I am impressed and admire your strength! Although I've never been a runner, and never will be, my daughter ran her first marathon last year and it was one of my proudest moments seeing her cross that line. I love that your daughter is following in your footsteps (pun intended, LOL)!
Sharon, I used to say that I wasn't a runner. I can now say that I AM a runner and that I REALLY enjoy it. Congrats to your daughter on the marathon. Not sure if I'll be tackling a full, but I know that I have several 5 & 10k's lined up after I complete this half. Thanks for your comments!
Next year we're going to have seven half-marathons here in San Diego County. The bigg one usually gets about 15,000 people entering.
