NW Austin TX ~ Buying a Home...Do You Know What Half This Stuff Means?

There is so much statistical information and percentages reported from the government, the media and supposed experts it is almost dizzying trying to decipher the true facts.  Are you relying on these sources to give you the true picture of Austin's local market place?

Remember real estate is local and varies even from neighborhood to neighborhood.  Trying to skim from one resource to another and interpret the facts without the knowledge and experience can lead to disaster!

You could miss out on a wonderful buying possibility by not consulting a local Realtor® who can address your concern if prices are continuing to decline and provide you the pertinent facts of the market activity in the community where you would like to live.  In Austin with inventory diminishing, interest rates at an all time low, waiting any longer could mean you would miss out on the best buying opportunity we have experienced.

I moved to NW Austin in 1981 and have been servicing the area for 22 years as a real estate consultant.  I live, work and play in NW Austin and know the history of our local real estate market.  I'm a good listener and can provide you with the right information to make an informed decision on making your next home purchase.  I'd be honored to schedule an appointment to see if we are a good match. Call me direct at 512-346-1799 or email me at dillard@reloaustin.com.

Hi Ron & Alexandra,

Real Estate is so local and buyers need to understand this and get the information to make an informed decision.

Sell, sell, sell...still laughing over the video.  Good points made in the post too Dorie...instead of going it alone, call an excellent local Realtor, like Dorie Dillard, who will clearly show you what all the statistics mean.

Hi Ginny,

Each geographical area of our country is different. Many buyers listen to the national news and just don't understand areas of the country that are doing well just don't have the same real estate market as other parts of the country.

Dorie, I just love that baby!! In fact, I love, love, love the Subway commercials where the adults have kid voices.  Cracks me up.  On a more serious note, I think it's so important for agents to work in their sphere of influence.  I work in a very limited area having only a few years here in MD.  I'm pretty good at knowing what's sold, what's turned over, what's rented and when it will come back on the market.  I really think MLS should service local associations, and if you want all the info, you should belong to that association.  It might encourage agents to deal where they understand the market and ups and downs in their area.  Oh well...there I go on my soap box.  I do agree with you, it's so important to know your community.  I do enjoy your listings and the knowledge you bring about your area. :) Gail

Dorie, great idea in your blog!     Real estate is local and need to use someone that KNOWS the area, before buying your largest purchase!

Good morning Joan,

Too many buyers are listening to the national news and that is like listening to the national weather report! Each area is different and have different dynamics in play!

Dorie: The E-Trade commercials are the best. I would not even think of buying a home without a professional like yourself to represent me. Your knowledge and experience is what folks need to guide them through the entire process.

Have a good week.C&C
