Making Your Home Inviting For The Thanksgiving Holiday

Preparing a warm, welcoming home for the holidays is easy! Having a clean, clutter free home with fresh energy is a great way to welcome guests into your house.

With Thanksgiving just a few days away, we will be rushing to put together a great fest for family and friends and spending time prepping our home for our guests. One thing we should be aware of is scents. A warm, welcoming scent that is not too overpowering sets a relaxing and comfortable mood for guests. Be sure to not have to many candles or insents going at at time as too many smells can be too strong. The smell of some fresh baked pumpkin pie is sure to get your guests hungry and ready to dine.

The holiday table, main entrance and fireplace mantel seem to be the most decorated areas of the home for celebrations. Don't forget to add little touches to the bathrooms, kitchen and even the bedrooms. If you have candles, don't forget to blow them out at the end of the night and keep an eye on them through out the night to avoid any fire hazards.

To avoid any unnecessary stress, cook the food for the day and night early. You can always reheat. Make sure all your guests are invited and if they are bringing along extra guests you may need to know about. Have a seating arrangement. Are kids eating at a separate table or with the adults? Set out all plates, bowels, glasses and utensils, etc, ahead of time.

If you need help, don't be afraid to ask. Your guests and loved ones are sure to offer you a hand so if you need some extra hands don't shy away from saying so.

Ultimately, the best celebrations are the ones where you have a really good company, so creating a comfortable setting for your friends and family to enjoy is the ultimate good feng shui for the holidays.

Good food, good friends and a good dose of the feng shui fire element (candles or fireplace to warm up and purify the energy) are the best ingredients for a well-celebrated holiday.
