A Wenatchee Home Inspector - Leaving Las Vegas

By
Home Inspector with NCW Home Inspections, LLC

Well my week as a Wenatchee Home Inspector in Las Vegas has come to an end and I am home in the beautiful Wenatchee Valley.

                                                     Leaving Las Vegas

The beginning of the week was a primer for what was to come. I received several certificates; home inspection of manufactured homes, home inspection of gas appliance, electrical service panel inspection and a few others. By the end of the week I had my grey matter oozing from my ears.

                                                                              Brain Overload

The Last two days was spent in an IRC (International Residential Code) class. This is a primer class for taking the ICC Residential Combination Inspector certification also known as the R5 certificate.

So I will be back in heavy learning mode as I prepare for these classes, if I decide that the R5 Certificate is in the future (and if the head does not blow up or fuse prior to that).

I can tell you, it is good to be home in the Wenatchee Valley.

What does the new designation do for you, or what will you do with it?  Does it bump you to a different kind of inspections?

P.s.  I loved Red also!

Dan,

Thank you. I love the Red Adair quote, I think says it all.

Jay,

What it will do. It basically put you on the same education level as many of the AHJ's. It usually is the basic requirement for any municipal inspector.

From a practical standpoint it gives you a better understanding of the code, how to find information in the code.

From business standpoint it may give me some other opportunities for other type of inspections which I have an idea for and/or I could apply for a municipal inspector job which I seen this as a basic requirement.

From this you can take continuing education and get certificates to be specific inspector such as an mechanical inspector or plumbing inspector and so on.

Don, are you still hearing the slot machines?

Brad,

The sounds of Las Vegas are just as bright as the lights. I think there is a certain Zombie-ism that goes with them slot machines as people play them. They are slumped in their chairs and pushing the buttons (very few one arm bandits with all the new electronics).
