56 Comments on # 1 Reason why it is better to own your home rather than rent one.
Garrigus , Thank you for reblogging the post.
Zoe, Thanks for reading.
Excellent post, short and clear. I wish there were great ways to get the post to buyers who really need to move from renting to buying, seriously.
This is a great post and so true I am working with investors doing this all the time.
Joy, I wish they will read this post.
Gene, This is a good time to work with investors.
Gita- excellent post and I suggested it. I think there is still a lot of "fear" to buy but, with the right breakdown of buy vs. rent analysis like you have provided it really helps put things into perspective. Keep up the great work!
Amanda, Thank you. I appreciate your comments.
HUD put a moratorium on investors using the 203K renovation Loan program because of the preserving the housing stock for first time buys. Thanks for your post!
Fred, Thanks for the info.
Good going Gita! You've got a start on it
Great input here, Gita and very simply put! Thanks so much for sharing!
Hi Gita, with prices so low and interests rates at unbelievable lows, I am amazed that more are not buying!
Beverly, Thank you.
DeeDee, I hope buyers will read this and call a local agent to see a rent vs buy analysis.
Bob, I agree.
Great blog Gita. Buyers need to know that they can purchase a house and pay less in mortgage than they do in rent. Much success on your blog.
Denise, As prices are low and rates are low in many areas it may be better to buy than to rent.
Gita,
I came from the reblog.
To tell you the truth, it wouldn't work for me and many others at this time. I am a renter, and this was the best thing that could happen to me. I am paying $1,200 a month for a 3 bdr/3 bath 2,347 sf condo 5 minutes from the Beach.
I used to have a 2/2 condo, and my expenses were nearly 3 times higher.
So, though it is temporary, and we will be looking for our own place again, this rental was a blessing
Good morning Gita,
Excellent post..short, concise and to the point. Home ownership is a long term investment besides fulfilling the American dream. The benefits far outweigh the negatives :).
Dorie, Thank you for reading.
As I always say your buying a home for someone, renters are buying for their landlords retirment.
In addition to this choice making sound financial sense (to most people), deciding to own a home is a largely emotional decision as well. There are a lot fo other factors that go into it.
Renting actually works better for some people, but thats ok.......my investor/landlord clients need tenants to fill their rental properties.
Charles, Renters should first see if it is cheaper to rent than buy . In most cases it is better to buy.
Jayson, I agree. It is a good time to invest.
