It's Official: I'm a Mac Girl!

MacBook Pro

Well, it's official - I've made the switch from a PC and am now a Mac Girl!  I've been talking about making the transition for quite a while and with my Iphone 4s on order, it was time to make the leap.

I was met at the store by both my "Mac" genius boys and given the grand tour of everything Apple.  I wasn't sure if I needed an iPad2 as well but decided to dive into my MacBook Pro first and then see if the iPad is necessary.

I am now home with both boys still at my side for the "unboxing."  You would think it was Christmas in my house.  The exciting part is they never believed this would happen.  What they don't know is the hours I snuck in while they were out of the house playing around with their Macs. With all of the web and graphic design plus video editing I do, the Mac makes my life so much easier!

I'm giddy with excitement! I absolutely love my Apple MacBook Pro!

To all of my fellow Mac users - what do you love best about your Mac?

Rebekah, You will love it. I made the switch about two years ago and love it. The only issue i have is our association in Las Vegas is on a platform that requires windows. Luckily there are some ways around this. Congratulations !!!

Hi Rebekah - I am so jealous. My first Mac was THE first Mac and I had 14 of them before I switched to PC - just before the Mac started running windows programs. Now, I'm just waiting for enough mad money to switch back for good. You're going to love it.

Rebekah, My daughter wants a Mac too, and I have heard nothing but PRAISE for those New Mac Pros. Christmas came early to your house. I see a lot of people above have already made the switch. It's on my Wish List for Christmas. I am glad you love your new Mac Pro.

I made the switch earlier this year but still have to go back to the PC program for my MLS and contract sites.  Hope you enjoy your MAC.

I was a MAC girl for years and years, but my employers cut the umbilical cord and forced me to the PC platform. Now that I'm an independent contractor, I make the choices. I am currently PC notebook and iPAD. Gotta love cross-platform cloud computing.

A kid in the candy store!

I can feel the excitement in your blog. I know so many people who try to get me to make the switch, why is it so hard for us to believe that the MAC can be a better experience. I've been fighting it for, well, since the name, Steve Job, became famous.

Hope to read about your MAC experiences in the future Rebekah!

Hella - I'm excited about my iPhone 4s arriving this week.  It's a whole new experience and I'm eager to find out what all the ype is about!

Georgina - That's great to know about filezilla.  I've used that program for years so it's nice to know I won't have to switch over to something new.

John - Apple definitely makes it easy since you don't have a ton of options.  I went with the 13" but think I could have lived with the 11.  Its the power behind it I'm excited about more than anything.

Joanne - I was looking for mobility too.  I travel a lot so it needed to be lightweight and easy to carry.  Depending on what you do with your Mac, you might want to look at the Air. It's pretty impressive and offers more functionality than the iPad.

Cindy - I suspect that's exactly what will happen to me.  I never thought I'd know anything but a PC, but now I say move over and make room for my Mac! ;)

Rebekah - I don't have a Mac, but just got the IPad2 and LOVE it. I casually mentioned to my husband I think I'd like an IPad and he came home with it the next day along with every available option that you can think of - is he not the sweetest guy?! It's perfect for my staging company because I can show my portfolio to anyone anytime.......................and trust me when I say I do, whether they want to see it or not - lol!

Congratulations on your new baby!  I'm sure the kids are just as excited to break into it as you are.  I'm still on a PC but my boyfriend is on a Mac.  Just hate having to deal with a new learning curve when it comes to technology.  No patience...:)  Enjoy!!

Kristine - I have really wanted an ipad2 for the exact same reason - they are so portable and easy to take anywhere!  But...I just couldn't bring myself to spend another $500 on a gadget I probably don't need.  You never know though...Christmas is right around the corner! ;)

I hear ya Jennifer!  The learning curve is never fun and it's definitely going to take me some time getting used to.

Tatyana - We will have to share in our adventures with the new Iphone4s.  It's my first foray into an iphone so all this new technology should have me reeling within the next few weeks!

Rebekah, glad you left the darkside of the PC world and I am all Apple, MacBook Pro and iPhone. I really want the 4GLTE version of the iPhone though and will skip the 4S.

Rebekah! I can't wait to hear how it goes with the Mac!  My daughter switched over and says she loves it!  I'm an old dog and "new tricks" scare me - so keep me posted on the outcome!!!!

All I can say is DO IT Mike! You will love it!

LOL Gary - The "dark side" is exactly how I referred to it.  I'm excited just to be making the transisition.  I figured with the phone on the way, it was now or never.

Louise - So far so good.  There have been a few challenges that I can share if you decide to make the move.  Fortunately, I have my two boys that have been patient in walking me through.  My husband made the change at the same time and he's having a less than enjoyable time with the change.  He dislikes change in every way.  We'll get him drug over though! ;)

Rebekah - I'm one of the few people who prefer the PC to Mac.  I have used the Mac in the past and went back to the PC.  I love my iPhone and my iPad, but unless you are doing a lot of video editing and graphic design work, I don't see the value of it.  I know you do a lot of video editing, so you'll love it!
