It's time to load up the car and head to the mountains for the Hood River Valley's world famous pears. I didn't know before moving here that the Hood River Valley is the single largest pear growing region in the entire United States, producing over a billion pears annually. In fact, I didn't particularly care for pears until I tasted those grown here. I now literally prefer a fresh, ripe Starkrimson to most desserts! They are that good!
