Let me tell ya bout the birds and the bees and the flowers and the trees...in West Linn Oregon
Today was a gorgeous day in West Linn Oregon, with the sun shining and the weather in the mid 60's. A perfect kind of day to get out and about enjoying the fall festivities around town or for fall gardening. Both of which I was really itching to do...but with a torn calf muscle, I'm supposed to stay off of my leg for a bit. I did however "hobble" out to my deck to lay on my lounge chair and soak up the sun. I didn't last long before I reached for my camera and took a few pictures. By next week, these flowers will be all pulled out, the bees will disappear until the spring. The birds however enjoy my food all year long so I put some peanuts out on a table and watched the show.

Hi Judi...and yes...and a thing called love! Love living in West Linn! Especially in a day like today :)
Hi Cindy,
What amazing Talent shines in Tualatin it must Cindy Westfall, wonderfull pictures.
Your pics are beautiful. We had unsettled weather all day. And two hard frosts. The only things doing well in my garden are the brussel sprouts.
Hi my wonderful friends up north! Thanks Peter and Linda, I had to entertain myself somehow..LOL. Bet this time of year is just real pretty in Victoria, BC
Hi Debbie, is that the view from your yard?? wow! Colorado is just beautiful...and betting those birds are enjoying the sunflower seeds.
Sorry about your leg. I have to see if you posted about it. I've only read a few as I was reading on my PHONE. (I need younger eyes or a bigger phone) LOL
Beautiful photos though. The bee one is just awesome.
Thank, Cindy. I grow the sunflowers every year...with no effort. They just keep reseeding and we actually have to pull out a bunch. I grow them for the birds. Soon I'll put out my winter feeders. I've even gotten some wild turkeys to come up to the feeders.
Hi Cindy,
Your pictures are wonderful and i love the rich colors. I think the blue jay is special as it is hard to get them to stay in one place for long. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Tammy, thanks..it's healing faster than the doc said it would...hate when these things happen out of nowhere! I was surprise the bee stayed there for me.
Hi Debbie..wow, wild turkeys..now how cool is that! Biggest bird I've gotten was the pileated woodpecker..
Hi Kristin, I love how the Stellars Jays and the BlueJays all come one at a time...occasionally they'll have a squabble..but for the most part they let one leave before the other one goes in for the peanuts. Here is a video clip I did of them a while back. http://youtu.be/eBAWLATPdDE
Hey Cindy - I see you're not wasting your time while your leg heals. Great Job thinking creatively and getting your posts in during your stretch of homebound.
Hi Jill, I'll be testing my leg out tomorrow and take a short drive. It's my right calf..so driver foot. I know if I don't...I'll be going stir crazy! In the meantime, I can at least sit and work and do things on the computer. There is always stuff to be done..so this kinda forces me to sit and cross some of it off my list.
Great title, fun post and cool photos. Sorry to hear about your leg...hope you do okay on your drive today. I know what you mean about getting out of the house for a while - take care Cindy and don't overdo it.
Great article, very useful information to have.
Hi Debb, Thanks..probably just do a drive around the neighborhood to test it. Hope you're injury is all healed..or close to it as well. I've been concentrating on computer stuff...and now have several piles on my desk to get through. It kinda forces me to do some of these things..which is a good thing.
Hi Will, thanks :)
Hey Cindy - Beautiful photos! It's nice when life slows down enough and you can just relax outside and watch nature at work. And I'm sorry to hear about your leg - that sounds really painful.
Hi Susan, sometimes, one is forced to slow down...which in itself isn't really a bad thing. My leg seems to be healing well and I don't think it's as bad as the ER doc thought since it hasn't turned the expected black and blue. I've been able to sidle up and down the stairs..my home office is up..the family room with the sectional down. Life happens! Bet you got some really good footage of your sons game last night...what a pretty night it was.
