Greater Toronto Area - Housing Sales - Monthly Trends - September 2011
The number of sales reported in the Toronto Real Estate Board's ("TREB") MLS® over the year has seasonal trends as shown by the chart below which tracks sales in TREB's MLS® system from January 2008 to September 2011. In general, the number of sales during December tends to be the lowest during the year, while sales in the spring /summer tend to be at the highest levels. Sales during 2009 were lower than in recent earlier years due to conditions in the financial market.
The number of sales for September 2011 has improved compared to the same period in 2010 but is slightly lower compared to September 2009.
Data used to prepare this chart is obtained from data reported by Toronto Real Estate Board REALTORS® in the TorontoMLS® system for the Greater Toronto Area.
