I like football and while I might have enjoyed the game, I decided a week ago to NOT go to the chargers game so my husband could have a little Bro time with Andrew, his baby brother. I stayed at the softball field with my nieces when my husband left me and the GPS to "find my way" back to his mom's house. I had called Russel to let him know I would be out his way a few days before so I gave him a call and he was super sweet. First he did not just have me meet him somewhere that I would have to find in San Diego, he drove down to Chula Vista with curb service and picked me up right at the door. And a few hours later that is right where they dropped me off too.
I've been to San Diego before, but have never been out to Coronado. That was where we went. I'd seen that big long bridge, but generally when I'm out we don't do "tourist" things because we are visiting family. This time I got the best of both worlds. I got the grand tour of the "famous" and "infamous" houses in the area, we also stopped to snap some photos across the bay toward the city of San Diego. Then we stopped off at Joe's Crab Shack and had a drink.
Dumb me... didn't even think to take a photo of Russel and Jim with pink pop rocks all over them, so you'll have to just take my word for that. But if you are out their way I definately recommend a personal meeting. They were gracious hosts and very charming and so knew their way around (which was a huge advantage over me). I want to give them both a huge public Thank You and say I really enjoyed the afternoon.
The photo above right is taken with my camera of Jim and I by Russel. It was across the by back toward San Diego from Coronado. I'm going to add some additional photos I took that afternoon below. Hope you enjoy. And thanks again Russel and Jim for the great afternoon and I enjoyed meeting you both.
So that was one more day of my vacation besides spending time with family. Russel wrote a blog post about this too. Just don't spend too much time looking at his photos.. they make mine look bad. Hope you'll hope over there to see them though.
And look forward to a future post about another meet up on my travels with an ActiveRain friend.
