I was thinking about our favorite family game as we headed into the weekend.  As the weekend played out my thought of what it was overall played out.

Our favorite family game is Monopoly.  However there are three variations that we play it in.  One is the traditional board game.  My son, my wife and I played this slower paced game Saturday late afternoon.  I took them down much to the dismay of my son.

We also have the Monopoly deal card game. This is a fast pace fun way to play Monopoly.  Its a little tricky to learn but once you understand it you can play often.  We play this game 3-4 times a week. And the great thing about it that its even.  Our 5 year old can be competitive and win just as much as I can.  Plus you can play a game in about 10-15 minutes so you don't have to budget 2 hours to play.

Finally my wife seems to be addited to McDonalds with the Monopoly game going on there. Everyday she comes home with more Monopoly game peices.  You realize that they only seem to make 2 of 3 pieces you need for each set has she has multiples of many properties but every color is missing one game piece.

What are your favorite family games?

Good morning Chuck,

First choice is always Monopoly, second would have to be Scrabble...

We have a version of Monopoly called Catopoly. Instead of Passing GO, you Pass Scat. Free Parking is the Catnip space. My daughter loves cats and loves this game. We also like Yahtze.

When I was growing up, Monopoly was a really fun family game. We use to play it all of the time.  My family LOVED board games.  It's not something that I hear about often.

Chuck, my family plays a simple but fun game called Apples to Apples.  It is great for school age children because it teaches nouns, adjatives, verbs and adverbs..........very fun for adults too!  ~Karen
