On Which Course is This Pinehurst Golf Home Located?

By

It is usually not very easy for someone new to the area or a non-golfer to tell which golf course a home in Pinehurst is located on. (Orignially published on Find Pinehurst Homes)

Pinehurst Golf HomesThere is only one community in Pinehurst in which you can tell with absolute certainty which course a home is on without knowledge of the various courses. That would be Pinehurst No. 6. All homes that are golf front in No. 6 are on that course.

However, that isn't so easy for course No's 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 7. Golf course number 8 has no homes adjacent to the course so you know when looking at a golf front home it can't be No. 8. The other courses weave around each other a bit and some homes in a neighborhood could actually be golf front to more than one course. This is more common with courses No. 2, 4 and 7 which have homes on them from Fairwoods on 7 community, Midland Rd. in Old Town Pinehurst and the Dogwood Condos off of Morganton Rd.

Course No. 1 starts by the Pinehurst Country Club then crosses Morganton Rd. and has homes around it in two different neighborhoods known as Unit 8,  and Unit 11 (Doral Woods) .

Courses No.'s 3 and 5 also cross the street from the main Pinehurst Clubhouse and they weave around each other among some condos in the Pine Valley, St. Andrews, Prince Manor, Golf Terrace, Erin Woods and Linville Gardens complexes. These same courses are also adjacent to some single family homes in Units 6 and 1.

When sections of Pinehurst were subdivided many years ago the subdivisions were given Unit names. These subdivisions can some times be confusing because they often run into each other without any clear delineation.

Hi Dawn,  That is weird that the golf courses are numbered.  Don't they have unique names?  Seems like that would help

That must be a huge community to have that many golf courses! And I thought Elkins Lake was big! They have three 9 hole courses. Each has a different name.

That's what I thought at first, too, Belinda. Now I'm used to it and can't imagine the courses named any other way.

Joni, it really isn't that big. Seems like it would be, but there is only a population of around 13,000, but since the home wind around the courses, it can be confusing getting around.
