PROPERTY TAXES

I think it's "CRIMINAL" for Home & Property Values to go down, but Property Taxes Don't!

I have several properties in the state of Nevada, and several in the state of Minnesota and all the values of these properties has gone down. The values have gone done from 30-40-50 percent, so why haven't the PROPERTY TAXES gone down.

There should be some automatic adjustment to lower PROPERTY TAXES no longer than one year. And for any property owners that have had property values go down but not PROPERTY TAXES, we are getting "Screwed"

It should be a "Criminal" offense for any State, Counties & Cities that continue to collect PROPERTY TAXES that have not been adjusted to proper property values ...

"VEGAS BOB" is tired of getting ripped off from so many directions in life ...

Property taxes in our county seem to go up every year and of course home values are down. Seems like it is a loosing battle. Everything continues to go up except our income.

Bob, they change the rates to keep the revenue the same or increase the rates to maintain the level of services. Surely SOME services could be cut when values go down....

Funny how government works, they, the government, believe that their costs go up 7.5% each year and spend that movey. At the end of the fiscal year there is a run to spend anything left so that they can get what they spent last year + 7.5% more.

When income earners quite paying taxes or get tired of paying high taxes and move, you end up with Detrit, Cleveland, Miami, Chicago, Atlanta, Phillidalphia, New Your City and California.

VB ... My taxes have gone down every year since '06.  I don't think they have reduced proportionally but they have gone down on all my properties.  Have you checked your assessments?

Bob, this week marks 10 YEARS in Afghanistan  That would be both Bush and Obama.    What are we doing there?

America also has troops in Iraq, Yemen, Libya, and other countries.

I agree, the policy in Montana is to reevaluate once every 6 years, so they are looking at 2008 prices right now to figure the tax on homes.  They will not reconsider, they do not negotiate, we are not due for another "adjustment" until 2014, who knows what prices will do between now and then!

Hello Lisa and my taxes have gone down pennies compared to the dollars the properties have gone down ... ;o(

And hello again Fred and I have no idea what we are doing in these countries either? Could it be for POWER & control of the oil in these countries? Could it be that the "Billions & Trillions" of dollars worth of oil has created a scare America's Congress?

Howdy and evening Vegas Bob

VB,
if Obama really cared and so worried about us every day folks of our Country. He and the other politicians should start out helping our Country's by taking a pay cut of at less 1/2 of what they are payed. But not them, they start out by cutting Government jobs of the folks which are the real back bone of our Country.

I have also always thought that the folks of our Country should be the ones, which should be voting on the pay raises that politicians get, and not the politicians themselves.

I also think that the President and State Governors should be paying rent for their housing and not us paying for it. Plus the other politicians should have to pay the rent for the different office locations they have.

I have also always felt that all politicians should have to pay for their own food and travel expenses.

Have a good one

Hello Dale and so HAPPY you stopped by! And I agree with you 100% why do the hard working Americans get the short end of the stick?

Why should there be any homeless people in this country with all the revenue that Working America creates?

Why are there so many Politicians in US Congress? Why are there so many Attorneys that are Politicians?

And what really makes it so hard to turn a country around and head it in the right direction?

You go girl, get those taxes down.   It is a sad state of affairs we are currently in and everyone needs to cut back, including the governments.

Hey there Vegas Bob

VB,
part of the reason for so many folks being homeless in our Country has to do with, the very first thing which politicians look to do, is cut funding to organizations which are meant to help folks to get back on their feet.

We don't need as many folks in Congress which there are. Each State only needs one Congress person to representative in Congress.

As for attorneys that's how Government is setup, in order to keep the every day back bone folks from holding Government top offices.

It really is not all that hard. But when you have so many hands in the kitchen, the recipe just ain't going to turn out right. The other thing as to do with, they don't really want thing to be totally turn around. If things were, then the politicians ain't able to say, hey we need to give our selves a raise because we have to work so much.

What do you think VB?

P.S. Property Taxes don't go down here, Property Taxes and State Fees only go up and up.

Have a good one

I wrote an offer today on a property whose taxes increased 19% this year over last year yet the homeowner is taking a 28% loss in value since the property was purchased three years ago. Municipal governments are increasing valuation to compensate for the decrease in tax revenue. It's the rich (anyone who works is rich), paying for the less fortunate.

Hello Dale and your comments all so full of "Truths" and when ever I hear people talk about our Government & Problems in this country, I ask them "What can we really do about it?" Vote the right people in? Who really are the right people to run this country? And like you mentioned in your comment there are to many people in kitchen ...

Vegas Bob has been around long enough to see a pattern from our government where we continue to go backwards with our businesses/ places of employment and all around economy.

One might think with all the people praying for a turn around in our lives, country and so much more that it might work ...

Vegas Bob is starting to think maybe our government & governments around the world may just be "THE BEAST" 666

In Nevada they didn't go up since we have caps (3% OO, 8% NOO). I certainly didn't complain when they didn't go up as my property value rose.  I don't know what the story is in MN tho.

Bob - It almost looks like an elaborate Shell Game doesn't it, Bob!  Here in cash strapped California we now our state government putting its paws on already cash strapped cities, and burdening them, to take care of the Golden State's finances.  Some state prisoners will be sent to county jails to lighten the burden of the California prison system.  It's either a shell game, or just a moving of the deck furniture on the Titanic.
