Do you ever find yourself working late into the night and wondering why? How about blogging or working on your SEO late into the night and wonder why? That's how I feel tonight. When is the best time to give up for the night and just start over early in the morning?

As an appraiser I got used to working into the wee hours of the morning to meet deadlines during the refi boom. Now that there is a little more time in the day, I just can't get myself to work until 2 or 3am. Instead, my brain starts shuttting down right around...well, right about now, and my productivity just drains away. So, it's off to bed for me, only to get up at 4 or 5 to pick up where I've left off.

Sometimes, I feel like that...I tend to work on my website too much...It finally paid off a couple days ago though after almost a year...I think that a lot of my recent search engine activity and website leads have to do with Active Rain...

I have been told that it takes hundreds of blog posts to really get traffic...

John, I know how you feel but it just seems there are not enough hours in a day!

I say when you have an urge to work late... take advantage of it. unless your doing this several days a week, would make for many tired mornings. ; )

Working late is fine - as long as you are not ignoring loved ones and leaving them out in the cold.  If you have a significant other be sure to ask them how they feel about you burning the candle into the wee morning hours. Remember - all work and no play is not good!  Take advantage of this slower time and get the few extra hours of shut eye.  I believe business will be picking up so enjoy the sleep while you can get it!   :-)

Just make sure that you schedule personal time and time with family and friends!

I've been trying to schedule personal time for family and to work around the house. I usually take at least a few hours form working when my wife gets home from work so we can spend time together.

Wouldn't you, I stopped working just after the blog post and got up early to work, but the storm last night knocked out power and my internet connection which just recently came back up. Go figure!

I try to leave the serious work behind me at the office. So when I get home at 4 or 5 or 7, I can really ignore it if I want to go out or something. But if I do decide to get some work in, including blogging, that is what I call Wine Work. And I figure if I am going to have a glass of wine while I am doing it, that makes it fun stuff.

I too get tired around 10 or 10:30 and feel it's better for me to hit the hay and wake up refreshed to start over in the morning.
