Well, here goes! The STAGERS OPEN FORUM IS UP AND RUNNING!

Or, at least I hope it is!  I am so computer illiterate sometimes..I received an e-mail from Caleb at AR who told me that I should use the groups feature to set up a stagers group and that it can use the forum format in the "view" settings. It is my understanding that this will be a secured site, but I'm waiting for an e-mail confirmation of that from AR.   I'm not sure if I set this up correctly, but let's give it a try, shall we?

My vision for this Forum is that we have a place for the stagers (and any other members of AR who wish to do so!) to dialog about the business.  Blogging is not necessary, although you are welcome to at any time.  I would like this to be an ongoing conversation where we can ask questions, share ideas and marketing tools that have been effective for us, and generally support one another's efforts.  I only ask that we all show respect and courtesy for one another - we may not always agree with an idea or belief, and that is ok...life is made up of differing views and opinions....which brings me to another point.....

On this forum, course designations, or lack thereof, are of no importance - here we are all equal.  This industry is still growing, albeit in leaps and bounds, and we are on the cutting edge.  Since there are no guiding principles in place to date, let's see if we can brainstorm and help to formulate some standards for 'Staging' that will create a strong foundation upon which the Staging Industry can grow.

So, who wants to go first?  Just jump in with an idea and let's take it from there...no need to blog unless you want to..we can start the 'conversation' with a comment.

Staging It Forward,

Val

Val, thank you for working so diligently to get a forum specifically for stagers to ask questions, vent, brainstorm, etc.  This is definitely what Staging it Forward is all about.

Val - It's a great idea.  I'd really love to start posting some before pics and ask every ones advice on how to stage them.  It might really help to get different perspectives.   I love the group.  Hey speaking of love It is pretty lonely in the I love NY group <Shameless plug>

Judy - thanks for your appreciation - this site is really an extension of SIF in that we can dialog about whatever anyone wants - and all without blogging (woo hoo!)...just throw a thought out there, and let's see what direction it takes!

Maureen, go ahead - start a dialog!  post some pics!  Whatever you want to discuss - we're there!

I'm sorry that I've been a little remiss with the group the last few days - I've been crazy busy!  As usual, I've had 2 different contact to - what else, - stage a vacant house!  I'm working on room designs and choosing furniture and working up estimates.  All time-consuming work and for $0!!

And Maureen, I promise to visit your site - tomorrow 'cause it's getting late, ok?

Hi Val,

You are so brave to head up a forum...bravo to you!

So here is my burning question:

Are any stagers getting business from the AR real estate agents in your areas?

Thanks Sheron,

I have had inquiries as a result of either being on AR or from the higher search engine ranking I have gotten as a result of blogging on AR.
