We are coming up on the season of Holidays and Thanksgiving will be the first. It will be a time of reflection for the positives in our lives and for the good fortune we may have and of course our health. Almost every day has been a day of Thanksgiving for us, as we see the little spirit grow within our youngest grandson, Raphael.
Raphael was a very unexpected surprise. A late in life arrival that was uncertain whether he would be with us.
We are all proud of the little ones that grace our lives, and can never have enough good feeling or enough time with them.
Raphael has become a rejuvenation to us and with each day we become more appreciative that he is with us and for the way he enriches our lives.
He is not our first, and the others have no less a position, in our lives, but with his smile and probably quicker than average abilities, he can't help but be a shining star.
We no longer feel the weight of those years we've traveled as we have a motivation to try and set the foundation for what we hope will be a flourishing and happy life for this little guy.
He fills us with his smile; he makes us a laugh at his quick responses. He makes me shudder at the mannerisms he displays that seem all to familiar to mine, and yet there is no blood connection to this little charmer.
Raphael has already demonstrated an appreciation for the finer things in life and has taken an enthusiastic interest in learning.
He has already gotten to appreciate the intricacies of the game of golf, and is always looking for an opportunity to get on my practice mat and putt a few.
Baseball and football are also in there, so his education is well rounded.
Raphael still needs a little help in choosing his proper team colors, but hopefully, I will have enough time to give him that talk as well.
Miracles are all around us, and what at first might appear to be a poor choice can turn out to be a most positive experience. Raphael is our Thanksgiving present, every day we get him around us.
