pre shave days!!

I came across a video that  just seems like the perfect mix
of fun and helping others.

As the video states, the event is held every year in memory of a lost brother and doubles to help underprivileged families with food during the holidays and to establish scholarship funds.

I'm glad to hear that the event is bigger than ever before..!

How great is that!!  the event is the 2007 TOMMY TANT MEMORIAL SURF CLASSIC

Take the time to watch this video which is less than 5 minutes in length. (you have to wait 15 seconds or so for it to start,. be patient!!!)

I must say I enjoyed hearing about their new division called the 'tadpole' division. This is for kids that are so young that they surf with their parents pushing them into waves.  It's the cutest thing and I must say I can't wait to get my future kid(s) in the water at the earliest age possible.

Do you have kids and live near the ocean? Have you taught them to surf.. you know, surfing keeps your inner child alive forever.. just ask or look at any surfer. :)

Take a look when you have a chance..

I could get into doing events like this....

what? what did you say Mr Destiny, the head shaving thing was just the beginning.?.. hhmmm, well, I'm listening..!

(what adventures are in store for this new beginning in life,..  in the mid, a-hem, 30's.. >gulp<  :o)

now, who wants to go surfing? :)

Hi Bright.. looks like fun!! I'm not laughing at your tumbling,.. its like anything in like. You have to stumble before you can walk.. it's a part of the learning process.. as long as you get up and try again. I wnet surfing over 12 times until I could stand up! what if would have quit? I would never know what it is to surf, and the joy I get from it! :)   thanks for the pic :)   (ps. i hope your not really and anti-surfer!)

HI Diane, helping others always gives people a great feeling.. and its something you can only know from doing it.  My time and 'talent' was shaving my head.. but I thought I'd share the story of the surf event! :) thaks for the exposure :))  see you!

Nick - sorry I have been out of touch lately man - but my phone's not ringing off the hook either!!!!LOL.  Might hit it today - even though it is small.  Was fun last week and hope you got some.  Any event like this is a great event.  I used to participate in an even like this when I lived in New Smyrna for a friend who passed that was a surfer.  Big fund-raiser, BBQ and fun while raising money for cancer research.  Always a great thing.  Even better when you can get the future generation of surfers in the water and started.  Let the salt water into the skin and soak it up.  I can remember when I started surfing as a kid.  I would get cut or something while playing outside and my mom would say, "I guess it is time to go surfing so get your board and I will take you.  The salt water will heal you right up."  What a killer lady my mom is and she "Knows" or "understands" perfectly!!!!!!!

Check my tadpole out.  She is 8 now but this is when she was 5 surfing New Smyrna! She rips and my wife had this blown up to like 20 by 20 and matted and framed for me and it is my finest and most precious piece of art in my home hanging right in the living room.

she rips!!
