Celebrate the Day- October 14 is National Dessert Day and that Means We Can Eat All the Dessert We Want (I Threw the Last Part in For Fun)
Look I have no idea what the origins are (if any) but I'm not about to question the one day when I've supposed to eat desserts!
I have a cold right now but I can guarantee you that if placed a home made piece of cake in front of me, this very moment... I'd eat it!
Dessert has a special ring to it, don't you think? It's positive... it means something good.... it's what we had after dinner, if were good and ate everything on our plates (back in the days when they had to force us to eat everything on our plates!)
I don't like just every dessert mind you..... I prefer home made when possible. My friends know this and 
understand that if they want to help me celebrate my birthday, they absolutely do not go out and buy a cake for me. I'd rather make it myself. And, besides, when I make it I'm using the real stuff and not preservatives.
In fact... when we're out to dinner, my eyes immediately head to the Desserts! I find it difficult seeing the Dessert cart stroll by without wanting to grab everything off of it. That said, I won't waste calories on just so-so desserts. I'm pretty particular.
