Managing Brokers Exam

By
Managing Real Estate Broker with Windermere Real Estate / NCW

As some of you know, I have been studying this summer to apply for my managing brokers exam. In Washington state this used to be called a brokers license but the new rules changed all "real estate salespeople" into brokers and brokers became managing brokers.

Having a managing broker would allow me to own my own company, manage a branch office or manage a team of agents. I don't know if I will do these things, but it certainly is nice to have options.

Yesterday, after a week of cramming and taking lots of practice tests, I took my two exams. The state portion was pretty easy, but I was challenged by the national portion and the new "situational" style exam.

Have no fear! I passed.

The next step is getting fingerprints taken and applying to the state for my license.

Congratulations. I'm preparing to take the exam here in Georgia in the next couple of weeks myself. The new "problem solving" format is different, but I think it's really cool. Good luck.

Hello,

I'm getting ready to take my managing brokers exam. I am going through Rockwell. I was a littel disappointed to see that the Cram book that I purchased is the same Cram book they give you for the regular broker exam. I've been studying this book consistently and am wondering if this will be enough to pass? Do you have any recommendations or advice on passing the test the first time around? Was there a lot of math? Any help would be wonderful! Thank you!

Sarah- I used the Rockwell cram too. If you keep taking the practice tests you'll do fine. I thought that the new style "situational" questions were hard, so study that format. Otherwise, the test isn't that hard. Surprisingly, a huge number of questions are exactly the same as on the Rockwell practice tests.

Good Luck.

I am taking my managing broker exam in a couple of months but failed it the first time. It was my fault since I've only studied 10 hours for it. I am taking my classes at  www.webnetrealestateschool.com , should I switch to  Rockwell?

Kham- I wonder if you can just take the "cram" portion of the Rockwell test prep. I found that taking these tests over and over again helped me prepare. I due recommend Rockwell for anyone who wants to pass the brokers test.
