At one point this past week, amidst the barrage of new housing data reports, I found myself asking: does it matter? And then it dawned on me, I might not be the only one asking that question.
A quick survey of a couple others in Chicago and the general response went something like this: it's not good right now, it doesn't seem to be getting better in the near-term and I hope it doesn't get worse.
Yep, that's pretty a exciting response, no it's not...I think the word is blasé. yeah, that's about right!
Much like that middle stretch of a road trip, when someone asks 'are we there yet' and you'ren not even close to the destination.
Granted for all of us in the profession of Real Estate, being indifferent to the housing market is not a way to operate a business, but some days, well some days, you just don't always feel like putting on the happy face to go out and deal with the deluge coming at you. But then again, if we all ran our lives by how we felt that day, we'd likely be a major emotional mess with little progress or even no success.
So, time to put on the happy face and go see how we can make a positive difference for a client who otherwise has given up hope.
