Geocaching Oregon: The beauty is all around!

One of the benefits of Geocaching in Oregon or anywhere in the world is that sometimes you will find natures beauty along with a cache. You see many cachers will hide caches in places that you may have never known about if you hadn’t blindly followed your GPS to these odd trails that you didn’t know about.

Geocaching Oregon

That was the case for us today as we found a trail close to my parents house that I had no idea was there, but as we parked there was a trail head. So, as we walked the trail and came closer and closer to the coordinates listed on the cache, there it was a site we never would have known about.

So, if you want to discover new places in your very own city, I suggest you get in to Geocaching and I hope you find interesting and beautiful places just like the one we did today while geocaching Oregon.

Todd - One of these days I'm going to have to gather the family and try out geocaching and see what we can learn about our area.

Very nice Todd! That place reminds me of a place in Georgia I used to visit in the forest as a little girl with a stream, ferns and luscious plants. Geocaching is a great opportunity to get up and get out and explore!

Todd,

My imagination is running wild! I'm visualizing this was an Indian camp site. There was a village nearby. These were the stepping stones to mark the trails!

Geocaching is pretty exciting!!!

I've never tried Geocaching, but everyone tells me that I'd love it. I like the way you presented it - "you sometimes find nature's beauty along with a cache." Best way to sell it in my opinion.

The photo is great - love the  texture.

My mother in law actually introduced GeoCaching to me. She has found/seen many beautiful things in Califonia. I like when people post about it and show the pictures, as you did. There are some amazing things out there that you may have never known about.

Todd, what a cool hobby!  I definitely need to try GeoCaching.  It reminds me a bit of the old "Find the Medallion" treasure hunt game sponsored by the Oregonian.  Every year, my family and I would get completely immersed in it, figuring out the clues, and investigating local parks, trails etc.  We came really close to winning it a few times, but the best part was the hunt - just being together and discovering some beautiful areas that we never would have visited.

Thanks for the GeoCaching idea!
