I'm going the NAR Convention in Las Vegas in a couple weeks..... Well how many of you are going to be there? Am interested with the latest technology for mobile computing.  I'd like to be able to drive about town and have a computer, printer, internet, fax capability, blackberry/phone/email.  I'd like to be able to keep this as efficient and uncomplicated as possible.  So I'm thinking about have good workability between hardware - it all talks to eachother. Cost is not my primary concern.  My first question is what do you like about what you are using?  Any suggestions on what to avoid.

Dan,

I would start by determining which units are compatable with your MLS system. In Washington, NWMLS uses Supra for our lockbox system. They have limited compatability with their service both by carrier and phone. I am currently using a Treo 650 with AT&T. Whay I like most is I only have one device - phone, PDA, and lockbox key. I get my email, Outlook contacts and calendar, Top Producer database on my phone which syncs with my desktop. I also have unlimited internet access. I love it.  Good luck.

Hi Dave

This summer, I travelled all over the United States and conducted business on the highways and byways and in hotels rooms, golf courses and in the mountains!  I wrote a three part series about it and here are the links:

The short version is this:  You can go where you want and do what you want and still have a viable Real Estate Business.  Here's what you need:

1.  A good laptop computer

2.  A wireless card

3.  An AC Converter for your car

4.  A physical substitute for yourself to take over when you can't be present

5.  A smartphone...Treo, Blackberry, Q

6.  An e-fax program

7.  A small portable printer

8.  A good web presence that brings you leads

I'm sure you'll find lots of great stuff at the convention.  But I did a 6 week trip with those 8 things and I successfully made money while I was away.
