There has been a wild proliferation of spam, here in the rain, recently.
Many featured posts have been inundated with comment after comment toutin the virtues of pillmalls, nikehangouts, and lots of other shopping venues, that undoubtedly would take your money.
These strange visitors from another network, have come to Active Rain with links and offers beyond those of mortal bloggers.
Now, Spam Assassin, who can change the course of mighty conversations, bend tootsie rolls in his bare hands, and who, disguised as Alan May, mild-mannered blogger for a great metropolitan social network, fights the never-ending battle for truth, justice and the digital way. (mild mannered?? really? who writes this stuff?)
Spam Assassin.
Spam Assassin quickly clicks on the "Report A Concern" button, at the bottom right corner of the spammy comment, before the Spamster can react. This sends an electronic signal to Lethal Lass, also known as Kerrie Greenhalgh, who as a comely worker at a Seattle-based social network has her finger on the... er.... who's often into... uh.... well... she just deletes them.
Does Spam Assassin stop there?... No, he does not! If the spammy spamster has a registered account with Active Rain (that's one of the ways they infiltrated)... Alan... uh... Spam Assassin goes on to report that account directly to Lethal Lass, or one of her proteges... (hey, how come Lethal Lass get's proteges??? All I get is this tight wool costume and the envelope face mask... and the costume itches... and kinda smells bad.... )... and they, then, delete the entire account. [put hands on hips, and puff out chest].
Kerrie... er... I mean Lethal Lass is looking into getting us a "badge" for those of us who've helped clear the blogwaves of this evil. Personally, I think it should look kinda like this:
Tune in next week, and see if the fight for truth, just itch, and the Armenian way is furthered by the adventures of Spam Assassin, and Lethal Lass. Also find out if a flying Squirrel can find true happiness with a Lethal Lass, in a town like Frostbite Falls.
