The Right Way To Prune Distressed Real Estate

I was reading with interest the right way to prune shrubs and trees as the weather in Chicago & the surrounding suburbs is changing.

One interesting I noted was the similarity of pruning trees to pruning a market of distressed real estate.  No where in the article did the Katrina Lewin, a horticulturalist at The Morton Arboretum in Lisle, Illinois, say to delay as long as possible the inevitable.  Nor did she suggest that you avoid the reality of a sickly shrub or tree.  Neither did she say to wait for a rainy day or only prune when you feel like it.

Nope, she said pruning needs to happen and the more consistent the effort, the better the result.  She also suggested that you need to have a plan to insure that you don't do too much nor not enough.  Of course, she said that if you don't have the right tools, then consult someone who does or get up to speed and then try it yourself.  But, most important of all, you need to prune so that you can have a stronger tree.

Sure wish the distressed real estate market was being dealt with by an experienced horticulturalist of real estate.

Great analogy for short sales and homeowners who owe more on their homes that what they are worth.

All indicator point to more of these type home headed for the market over the next 18 month. To read more go to http://www.sfbayhomes.com and read Monday Money Matters.
