I think many times our profiles are overlooked and often out of date.  Richard made some great suggestions in this blog.  Please be sure to stop by to let him know your thoughts!

How to improve your Active Rain Profile.

If we really believe in something, we should be willing to repeat it, repeat it often, write about it and say it out loud.

Luckily, I am willing to do all of the above.  In fact, when it comes to your Active Rain Profile and your profiles on all Social Media Sites, I am back to tell you, "You Need To Improve Your Profile".

I may have mentioned this once or twice before, but, there are several thousand new members that didn't hear it the first time, and about 150,000 members that just ignored me.  Let's try this again:

Your Incomplete Profile Is Hurting Your Image.

Points Or Profile?  Which Is More Important?

Congratulations! Your Profile Has Just Been "Featured".

Your profile is your resume.  It is very important that you represent who you are, your qualifications, what you do and what you are capable of doing for others.  In addition, you should at least consider how to give your profile powerful SEO content and even include lead capture capabilities, if you desire.

Here is my Profile:  Check Me Out!  My Profile is currently valued at 5785 Points.

I have a lot of Profile points and my profile is very long.  With enough content you wiill quickly gain points, but, points should not be your goal.  I have seen some very powerful profiles (more powerful in terms of SEO and lead capture than mine) with many less points.

You should start with the most important content.  Make certain that your contact information is complete and accurate.  Then, provide information about who you are and what you do.  You should only provide as much information about yourself, background, experience and skills as you feel necessary.  I have provided several links to allow you or anyone an opportunity to check me out on my Website, Facebook and LinkedIn, in addition to Active Rain.  I will soon include MY YouTube Channel for videos.

The next thing to complete is the Testimonials.  You should include as many as possible.  These are your references provided to other prospects, that may consider working with you.  Having just one reference looks questionable, having 3 is comforting, and having a dozen or more is impressive and reassuring.

The biggest section of your profile provides an opportunity to make a sale before saying a word.  What you include can make the difference between being contacted and being dismissed.  My profile includes a lot of components, which in some cases was included to generate points.  I repeat, that your primary goal should not be to max out on the point total.  You should include content that benefits your consumers. If you offer something of value, demonstrate your uniqueness and fulfill a need, the consumer will contact you.

Remember, all blogs will lead to your profile.  What will people think when they CHECK YOU OUT?

Here are some samples of impressive profiles that will give you some excellent ideas:

.....Tammy Emineth..........Cindy Edwards...............Anna Banana................Lenn Harley...........

........Russel Ray........Sally And David Hanson....Maureen Megowan...Frank And Karen Baker...

.......Jeff Dowler................Nyssa Smith............

If you have found other Active Rain Profiles that should be shared, just leave a comment and I will check them out.  If they are as good as you say, I will add them to the list.

I thought that this looked familiar! I managed to dive right into the blog without realizing it was a re-blog! Excellent blog, that I've read before, and well worth a re-blog.
