New Contest For Introducing and Recognizing Newbies in Active Rain
I have been thinking about a contest of this nature for some time now, and I believe the time is right for us to introduce, and promote our newest Active Rain members to encourage them to start blogging, or to blog more consistently. Basically, we are asking our seasoned bloggers or any Active Rain member who wants to earn some extra bonus points this month to seek out our AR Newbies, and write a blog about them to introduce them to your subscribers and associates.

Our Active Rain community is rapidly growing everyday, and with over 215,000 plus members, it is very difficult to actually know everyone in our community. But, the focus of this New Contest will be on our Newbies. Many of them have joined, and may have added a photo, and a short resume or description of their services, but have not written that first blog, or they have not written enough blogs to be consistent, or even be noticed by other members. When they do post a listing or their first blog they may get a couple of comments, but many get a Big zero in the comment field. Therefore, we need to support our Newbies to build up their confidence and help them get off that fence.

So here are the rules to the New Contest for Introducing Newbies in Active Rain.
1. Research and find three new Active Rain Members who have not written more than 10 blogs since joining Active Rain. Why 10? That was the number that I started out with when I first joined AR in Jan this year.

2. Listings or Market Reports should not be counted in the 10 blogs. Re-blogs will not be counted too. We are looking for originality. Blogs must be 200 to 500 words.

3. Write a post introducing these Three Newbies to our AR community, and include a brief write up about why you selected each one. You will earn 1500 bonus points for all three. Yes, 500 points for writing up each Newbie. Include a photo for each Newbie in your post.

4. You will also earn an additional 1000 points for sharing one single very important tip for Newbies that you have learned here is Active Rain. Leave an example of how you implemented  this tip, and how it benefited your blogging efforts.  The total bonus points awarded will be 2500 points when you meet these above requirements. 

*If you need help finding Newbies, look at the Members Who Joined in 2011. Just click on the month, and you will see which month our Newbies for 2011 joined AR.

5. You will post your blogs in the comment section of this post, and also in the Newbie Group, Introducing Newbies in Active Rain.

6. Any Newbie who has less than 10 posts, which does not include listings, market reports or re-blogs will also have a chance to earn some bonus points too.

7. Newbies will be awarded 300 bonus points for writing 10 posts during this challenge month for a total of 3000 points.

8. Newbies posts must be 200 to 500 words, and my be written about anything they would like to share to our AR community from Localism to anything personal.

9. There must be at least one photo posted with each Newbie post.

10. This contest is for bonus points, but you will receive your regular blogging points from AR and members commenting.

11. At the end of this contest, All Newbies will send an email to the AR Staff (Kerrie@ActiveRain.com) with links of all 10 of their posts for this challenge. In addition, Newbies will post their blogs in the group, Introducing Newbies in Active Rain too.

 12. The contest will start November 1, 2011, and run until November 30, 2011 midnight Eastern Standard Time.  Seasoned bloggers and Newbies will have one month to earn some extra bonus points to finish out the year in a Blast. Thanks in advance for making Active Rain a great supporting community.
