The City Council voted 6-1 on Monday to approve the $4.8 million for the final phase of the multi-year Downtown Vision plan. The project brings improvements to the infrastructure in the forms of brick pavers replacing asphalt and landscaping additions.
The work focuses on First Street North from Beach Boulevard to Fourth Avenue North. Massive improvements have been made to the central business district over the years, so much so that if you visited here 20 years ago and came back now, you would have a hard time recognizing the area.

The concept is to make the area even more pedestrian friendly and to be more family friendly as well.
