Carnaval of Real Estate

A few weeks ago a new website was launched by Zillow at http://www.carnivalofrealestate.com/ The basic idea is each week they will choose someone to host a "Blog Carnival" that highlights the best real estate related blog postings made by bloggers over the previous week. There are also "Blog Carnival" sites for many other non real estate related topics.

Anyways the reason I bring it up, is I've seen several posts on this site which I believe qualify as some of the better real estate related blog postings. So I'm going to do my part by submitting them to the Carnival of Real Estate and to help get a few of the excellent writters on this site more exposure. I recommend that some of our other members do the same.

The one problem I am running into is that many of the better posts have been marked Members Only. So unless you have a specific reason to keep your post solely within the ActiveRain community it might be better to keep it public and get some more exposure.

Matt, maybe you can send an email to the authors of the posts that you would consider candidates for submission, so they can remove the "members only" status? I think many of those articles are meant for the blogging side of things and not necessarily restricted for other reasons.

Since you're an admin, if you feel it would be beneficial to everyone to read the post, just change it from members only to public. I'm sure the author won't mind be singled out for greatness!!! :)

I agree with Jacqulyn. If you think a post is valid and appropriate for submission/exposure, do it. Change the status or check with the writer first, as you will. Many times we just want to not bore the public with something we things only agents will love.

Yeah I don't want to make the change myself as the author may have had a reason to keep it members only that I don't realize. So I will email the blog author when I see a post that I want to submit. Missed the submit deadline for this week, so I'll send off a list of the better ones later this week.

I agree with the others...take charge and make that change if you see fit...anyway maybe this will change your mind...keep up the great work...Jay
