Prince George's County, Maryland, Real Estate Market Statistics

During September, there were 634 closed sales, down 0.47% from last year.   The average sold price was $177,909, down 10.88% from last year, with an average of 108 days on the market.  The median sold price was $160,000, down 11.11% from last year.  Homes were selling for an average of 88.1% of the average original list price.

Hi Roy and Delores,

The salea are still strong. But could be a little better. Here the sales are about the same only down about 2.5% but th sale prices this year have increased about 5.5%.

A good trend to say the least,

Roy, Great pictures, as always. 

The number of sales is essentially unchanged from last year.  The reduction in mean and median sale prices may be because homes selling in September '11 are qualitatively different from the ones sold in Sept. '10.  Perhaps they're smaller or older and that caused the reduction?  Perhaps a larger portion of REOs?  The Case-Schiller Index is supposed to control for those factors.

Thanks for stopping by.  It is going to be some time before the real estate market returns to normal levels in Prince George's County, MD.  There is no shortage of available bargains for real estate investors.

Hi Chris:  The train is actually a work of art in front of the Gaithersburg Arts Barn in Kentlands. It is a visual attraction but not a play thing.

 Life is better when thare are flowers to photograph.
