Hi Charita -

Sounds like a rumbling good time to me!  Hope you enjoy your rival game.  I'm sure it will be a ton of fun!

My wife being from Alabama is all about Bama football and on Saturdays you might as well forget her doing much except being glued to the tube following SEC football.  You people in the south get serious about your football.... LOL... Roll Tide Roll.

Best regards from the Q

My wife would definitely agree with you regarding the band performances, Charita.  She's always moaning about the fact that most TV coverage of the games does NOT include the half-time performance any longer as it did in the past.  Those kids work for weeks on their performance, just as the athletes do!  They deserve some recognition too.  Hope you get a chance to enjoy a piece of the festivities ...

John, Alabama has some serious (college) football fans here.  I come from a pro sports town and still have not quite gotten use to the fact that a pro ball team would not stand a chance in Alabama unless they were playing against Alabama or Auburn.

Gene, I don't really think anyone goes to see the games (seriously).  The Magic City Classic was once known as the fashion show (in the days when I was going).  Folks would be decked out in mink coats, jewelry and dressed to the nines.  It was like "Game? What Game?"  At any rate, it's a huge event and a lot of fun.  And the 1/2 time show, is off the chain as the kids say.

Oh wow Charita!  That looks like it's going to be a lot of fun!  I noticed in your comment above that it was more about fashion then the game, is it still that way?  Either way, it looks to be a major event with a parade and everything :)!  I bet Birmingham gets really busy this weekend :)!

Charita, we know how important football is in Alabama...I like the idea of placing a seating chart in your post.

Charita,

I was in New Orleans during the Bayou Classic several years ago. These weekends are a great time, and as you write, similar to a family reunion. Wish I as nearby, so I could go to the Magic City Classic.
