Kentlands Fall Leaf Collection

The City's fall leaf collection will take place from the last week in October until the final week of December.  Pick up is made every 5 to 7 working days, usually on regular recycling days (Thursday).  During the heaviest periods, they may be one or two days behind.  During the pickup, leaves raked to the curb next to the recycling bins will be collected and disposed of by City recycling crews.  If you have any questions, please contact the City at 301-258-6370 or www.gaithersburgmd.gov.  The City does not collect leaves from the mews/alleys.

The Assembly's next leaf collection will take place the week of October 24th. Subsequent leaf collection will take place every two weeks.  Again, you are asked to rake your leaves to the curb.  Please keep in mind that the Assembly's leaf collection is every two weeks only, which includes alleys.  If you miss the scheduled pick-up, leaves will be collected on the next scheduled date.

We kindly request that you do not rake or dump your leaves in tree saves, tot lots, or in the streets.

Trash and Recycling Collection

All trash must be contained in an impervious container.  Please do not place trash bags on the ground as they are subject to being torn into by animals, resulting in unsightly trash throughout the community.  Trash and recycling containers may not be placed outside for pick-up earlier than 7:00 p.m. on the night before pick-up day.  Trash and recycling containers must be returned to the homeowner's property no later than the night of each pick-up day and must be stored out of sight.

Roy: Leaf collection every 5 to 7 days is an amazing service. Lower Makefield Township collects leaves twice during the season and of course the private communities collect their leavers more often. Wonderful loclism post with beautiful eye candy as always.

Hi Roy and Delores,

Not only get the leaves picked up but they can put the leaves into a compost and reuse them next year.

I love the shot of the ducks.

They look very happy.

Have a good day in VA.

Good Morning Roy,  Leaves are falliong off the trees fast this morning because of the heavy snow overnite, but only in the yards.  The snowblower will have to wait for another day!
