East Indian as a halloween costume???

By

My wife is working in a early childhood education centre and with today being Halloween she is supposed to wear a costume, the problem is that she really doesnt have anything to wear, She does have an Indian Saari that we recently purchased for a friends wedding, now my wife is Italian and German and certainly not Indian, We both have a great deal of respect for other cultures and those of India are no exception, My wife is worried that dressing up in the traditional Indian garment will be considered as offensive by some rather than a harmless attempt to spend the day as someone else, which is really what we all do when we dress up for Halloween...

I am really looking for some other opinions on this, she has to leave for work soon and is very nervous about wearing this as a costume.. Please help!

it's Halloween. Enjoy the day and dress how you want. I don't see the problem with that costume. If someone does get upset that is their problem. (people need to be less sensitive) Go for it and have fun.

Bonjour, Scott, welcome to Active Rain, and Happy Halloween!  You'll have lots of fun here.  You'll learn things, and teach things, and it's a great way to improve your SEO, advertise your listings, refer clients, and vent your frustrations.  Have fun!
