Why Use Video...
I am constantly on the search for supporting data to get the real estate industry to embrace and start using video in marketing. Sadly, a very low percentage of the agents and ancillary businesses use video for promotional or sales purposes. Below is a video touting my latest findings.
Are you using video? Why not? Sure, you can make up at least a thousand excuses. We all can. Maybe it is time to stop and really think about it

I joined you tube back in the beginning of 2007 and shoot, edit, render and upload to this and several other video platforms. The biggest critics of video are not using it. Your first videos will be awful because there is a learning curve like anything new and different to you that you lack experience with but start implementing it any way. Using boths the eyes and the ears is more memorable and 40% of the video is the audio. Do you ever turn down the sound when you are watching TV? "I don't think so" and as Kevin would also say in Home Alone, about TV dinners at the check out, be a real estate professional that says "I'll give it a whirl".

I think most agents are concerned with the cost of the video.  Generally speaking what would one expect to pay a professional?  I understand this changes from area to area but do you have an average or is there one?

Hi Michael - Many agents who are not interested in producing video are the same ones who don't even create their own feature sheets and simply use the MLS printouts.

Video will come into its own very quickly. People resist change until the momentum forces them to join the crowd. Enjoy your day!

Michael,

You are absolutley correct. Video is now, not the future of Real Estate Marketing. You can learn to do it yourself or hire a pro. I do both.

I bought the little video camera a while back and I suppose that I need to spend some time getting acquainted with it and maybe even making a video or two.  Who knows? It might even bring me some business!!

Keep spreading the word! I have been shooting video for my listings for over 3 years now and I know I get listings because of this. The less than 1% of us agents successfully using video know what the other 99% will find out.

Excellent promo for Radnor Lake Photography and Video, my friend. The stats alone are the reason Realtors should be using video in their marketing. The fact that you're the best at what you do is the reason they should be calling you.

Michael,

There is definite value in producing videos. I want to do this. I just don't know how, but I'm willing to learn.

Your presentation is very motivating and encouraging. I just got back from the Texas Association of Realtors Convention and they also stressed the value of video presentations. I'm on the verge of asking a parent if their five year old can babysit me while I learn how to do this! I'm sure it's easy - I just don't know where to begin. Sometimes, I'm pathetic! I have to do it myself - I just don't how how to do it.

Michael, Thanks for the reminder. I have already decided when I upgrade my phone the video taking part of it is going to be the highest point of the phone.

Phone in pocket, shoot video when ever I need it of what ever I want.

Enjoy the day sir

Hi Michael...I've been using Video for a Couple of years, my most successfully watched  video online was a client testimonial.

Recently NAR's Realtors Online Magazine  featured a Realtor who built her business doing video marketing her name is Shannon Register. She even built her own studio and markets exclusively with Videos.

Hey Michael...great post! I just did two videos, and finally learned how to use and tweak You Tube - a bit by merging several smaller videos into one, and editing....etc. I agree about the great resource video is for lots of reasons. Thanks!
