If rates are so good, why are so few people getting the best ones?

Great question!  According to an article on CNNMoney.com, credit worthiness is the biggest reason.  However, another reason that may not get a lot of visibility is the fact that low rates creates a rush on refinancing, causing rates to go up.  The bottom line is this: don’t assume that you will get the low interest rate that you just saw published.  Be sure you are comparing apples to apples when comparing rates and fees.
