Kevin McCallister, played by Macaulay Culkin, is an eight your old boy who is accidently forgotten by his parents when they leave for their Christmas vacation. With two burglars trying to break into the house, Kevin sets up booby traps all over his own home to bring the bad guys down and reunite with his family. The home in this hilarious holiday movie is now up for sale! This 4,250 square foot home is on the market for $1,950,000. Director Chris Columbus preferred real homes as his set and after knocking on the door of this house, the homeowners allowed him to film the first two movies in the Home Alone series at their residence.  Key West has been a popular filming spot for many years. Crisscross staring Goldie Hawn was filmed in Key West’s very own Eden House Hotel in Old Town. When the director asked to film at the hotel, a contract was drawn up that allowed The Rose Tattoo Housethe entire staff to be kept on the payroll despite the drop in work, all monthly expenses were to be paid, any changes to the physical appearance to the property would have to be put back to its original state and there was a $35,000 bond for any possible damages that the hotel might have due to filming. The Eden House Hotel was also allowed to rent out a few rooms in the houses at the back of the property. The Rose Tattoo was another move that was filmed in one of Key West’s houses. The director of The Rose Tattoo, Tennessee Williams, was from Key West and insisted that the filming take place in his hometown. The house used in the filming was two doors down from Williams’ home. The Rose Tattoo house at 1421 Duncan St is currently listed for sale. A number of other films have been filmed in Key West, including Operation Petticoat, Escape From Hell Island, Cuba Crossing, True Lies and the James Bond movie License to Kill. How would you feel if a director came knocking on your door and wanted to use your home as the set to his next movie? Would you welcome them in, strike a deal like the owner of the Eden House Hotel, or turn them away?

Wow what a price tag of this home. I would allow a movie to be filmed at my home if asked it would mean never forgetting the home.
