The foliage this year in Middletown Connecticut has been a little disappointing. Normally the trees are full of vibrant red, orange, and yellow colors, but this year in Middletown, Connecticut the colors have not been what they have been in the past. We did get a lot of rain this Summer and Fall so maybe that is the reason. All the rain was great for keeping our lawns green, but apparently that is not good for Fall colors.
Many of the leaves have already fallen, but there are a couple of areas that the trees still seem to be making an effort to at least put on a little bit of the display that we look forward to. The picture above is of Dooley Pond in Middletown right off of RT 17. These trees are peaking right about now, and maybe it is because they have the water in the foreground that makes them seem to display a little more color than the rest. Whatever the reason, I enjoyed the view so I took a picture of it to share.
Hopefully the vibrant colors that we look forward to at this time of the year will return again next year, but for now it is time to start taking out the rakes and start raking. J
