Last month I reviewed the basics on the summer sales in Franklin County and we looked to see how that compared to past years. All in all, the news was pretty good but there continues to be a lot of inventory out there, a lot of speculation about the future of the market and the health of the housing industy in general.
- 839 single family homes sold in September in the County – 1,041 including condos
- Average sales price of $173,074 and 99.5% of list price (wow)
- Average 90 days on market (remember, this doesn’t mean too much)
- Average home had 1700 sq ft exactly
Today’s Market, at this minute, has 11,594 Active Listings in Franklin County – just waiting for you to buy them.
1,840 homes are in contract and 59 others are in contract, contingent upon a home sale.
Last September, 27% more properties sold in the same month but they sold for around 4% less. That means that homes in the Columbus area are selling for 4% more than they were last year and that, gentle readers, is a good thing for everybody.
