The Jersey Shore's Unusual Fall Colors! (Silent-ish Saturday)

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty - Atlantic Shore

The days are getting shorter, and the nights cooler here at the Jersey Shore.  While we are not treated to the dazzling autumn colors that our neighbors to the north experience; the oak, maple and birch trees scattered among the scrub pines usually put on a colorful display.

But this year, according to the atmospheric experts/prognosticators, we don't have the usual color due to high humidity.  So I've noticed other things...

Unusual Fall Colors at the Jersey Shore
I don't know what bush this is, but I took notice of the unusual color...looks more like spring
than fall!

That is beautiful and I wish that I knew what it was. The fall colors are beautiful I am sure and we are even having cooler weather here in Saint Augustine.  Enjoy your fall, winter will be right around the corner!!

Indeed the bush is very pretty with the bright berries in a spring color.  It was past cool this early AM at only 30 degrees.  Burrrrrrrrrr.  I put my winter jacket to take the canine kids outside and of course they love to dilly-dally sniffing.

Beautiful bush Laura and I love your photo. We've had a lot of humidity here too, which caused some plants in my garden to get mold, black spot and slugs - not the best garden season. How did your tomatos do? Nothing like Jersey tomatoes!

The days are much shorter as it is getting darker earlier and the weather is a crisp cool 50/60 degrees which I so adore. No more hot humid summer days. The trees have just  slightly begun to turn colors at this time in RI.   And whatever the New Jersey shrub is the purple berries adorning it are absolutely unique and beautiful and they are certainly pituresque.

Laura...you know how I feel about getting outdoors - it doesn't matter what time of year, there is beauty outside.

That is a purple berry. Haven't a clue as to what it is either. Glad you noticed it.

I had to look at the picture a few times to see if it wasn't color changed....  Wow, what a color!

Laura, That is unusual, I too would have thought that it was a Spring photo rather than a Fall one!

Hi Laura, This proves that the the vibrant plum / purple color is also for Fall. Well done and nicely documented.

Hello Laura, you're right, that does look more like spring.  I missed the peak colors back in Illinois and Wisconsin this year...we don't get much color here in Alabama.

Beautiful purple against the green. We're having a pretty colorful fall here in southern Delaware.

Laura...I agree that bush looks to be a bit confused.  It has Easter clor.

:aura - I don't believe I have ever seen a bush that produced berries of that hue.  They're quite lovely aren't they!

Laura,

Looks like our beauty berry bush. The leaves are a little pointier but the berries are right (and poisonous). :)

Laura,

The bush is beautiful and I do not think I have ever seen lavender or purple berries before. Thanks for sharing.
