I had written a comprehensive article on green living and got nothing but a pile of negative comments on it so I have deleted it. Truth of the matter is most Americans enjoy wasting energy and they are not about to think about saving it in the least if these comments are any indication. Gas appliances are not only easier to use, they are more economical but not readily available in all parts of the country. Propane is a by-product of the production of gasoline we burn in our cars. If you burn gasoline, then you will appreciate how much propane we probably have.

Barbara, I wish I'd had the opportunity to read it.  Living more efficiently and in a healthier way is good.

I would say that most American's don't think twice about the energy they use. So for those of us who are attempting to conserve we need to educate others to promote Green Living.

I don't care who you are in America, go to a European country and see how the people there, living in the same small geographical area for hundreds of years conserve the energy today like they want people tomorrow to be able to have some. We Americans are lucky, we have energy, we use it and in comparison we pay very little for our energy. Keep insulated, keep warm, save what you can, you may need it tomorrow. Using what we have in a manner in which we can become more independent of other countries will help out our economy.

I wish I had the opportunity to have read it, too. I think too many people think of "going green" or "green anything" as some freaky, naive, idealistic, earth day, hippie ideal and don't think about the cost savings they can enjoy while at the same time doing the "right thing" to a world we have the privilege to inhabit for such a short time (in the whole scheme of time and the age of the earth).

Did you ever end up reposting the article...? It would be a shame to delete a great post simply due to some negative comments from a few folks. What were the main concerns with your post? Were they from rainers... green rainers? I know the feeling though. I've deleted a post an i'm in my first week here.
