                                    Tips for a Winter Yard

We live in an area where the snow flies in the winter and anything outside pays a price for remaining outside throughout the winter months.  If you plan on marketing your home through the winter, there are some things that may make a big difference in your curb appeal that you should be thinking of doing now, before the weather permits!

Selling your Bozeman Home

Give your deck a good look.  Find any rotting boards, loose screws or nails, is it clean and free of debris, is your deck furniture still out?  Replace those boards and tighten the screws or nails, both of these can be hazards while showing your home.  Clean your deck off and put away your deck furniture.  No one likes to see snow covered furniture or rusted parts come spring!  If needs be, consider re-staining or sealing your deck before the weather turns too cold to do so.

Now the yard.  Does it need one more mowing?  Do your perennials need to be trimmed back?  Can you rake the leaves and start with a clean slate for the snow to fall on?  All of these acts will result in a cleaner look for you throughout the winter months, and make your life in the spring that much easier!

Let’s add some winter pizazz!  Consider stringing some deck lights to reflect off the snow, or maybe string white lights on the fence or evergreen, even if it isn’t Christmas yet.  Add a colorful fall wreath to your front door.  Give some thought to some colorful bird feeders in the yard to attract the wildlife and add some pop.  Maybe a pot with an evergreen on the porches and decks would add some life to otherwise neglected areas of our homes in the winter months.

Even if you are not planning on selling, these quick fall activities may brighten your winter and make your spring easier to get started.  If you would like to sell your Bozeman home, these things can make a buyer appreciate the first appearances and your conscientious maintenance and upkeep.  Please contact me for a copy of our marketing plan!

J, I am so glad you liked it.  It is so hard to find some color during the winter months.

Great Post. Mind if I put it in my swipe file, with proper acknowledgement, of course. I'm surprised that Bozeman is just geeting snow. We had our first in October [which is way early].

Love the picture array

Doug, feel free to use it!  It's always hard to spruce up a home in the winter, but color is an amazing way to do that!
