Motivational Monday: Show up with bells on!

Motivational Monday: Show up with bells on!Motivational Monday: Show up with bells on!

The surest way to gain a client’s trust is to do what you say. When you set up an appointment to view homes, show up:

  • On time
  • Every time
  • Enthusiastic
  • Prepared to go
  • Dressed appropriately

Arriving late, disheveled and poorly organized will be met with scrutiny and may end a potentially great relationship. That quick! If you’re going to be late, a courtesy call is expected and the least you can do when people are waiting.

You only get one chance to make a positive impression with new clients so make the effort of arriving on time, every time with bells on!

Happy Monday!

Wanda- you are right on target with this.  Showing up late, poorly organized, disheveled makes the client-to-be wonder "do I want this person working for me?"

Wanda, a thousand years ago when I was learning how to deal with customers, I saw a motivational film on Lombardi Time. Lombardi Time means to show up 10-15 minutes early and give yourself an opportunity to refresh quickly, and when dealing with a home owner, drive through the neighborhood to get better familiar with the area.

I agree with you for sure. How do you expect the buyer or seller to be enthusiastic if you are not. Enthusiasm is contagious, so is the lack of it!!!

On thing I learned along the way is that no matter what's going on in your business or personal life, ALWAYS show up like you just came from your best sale ever.

I haven't heard that expression in a long time but it is a perfect one.  Show up, dress up and perk up.  No one wants to work with the dogs left overs.

Roger, It has been a good day!

Kathy, Exactly! Like your profile pic!

Thanks you Kathy, People will remember you based on the 1st meeting!

Ed, I still drive through a neighborhood ahead of time in order to prepare. Lombardi was a smart man!

Diane, True! I'd rather be contagious for the right reasons!

Will, Being late sets the tone, in my opinion, unless of course there is a good reason. And I don't mean ...I hit snooze 3 times before I could face the day!

Russel, Thank you for spreading your sunshine! Happy! Happy!

John, Yes, being on time is appreciated!

Craig, I completely agree and dress everyday for the "You never know who you may meet" scenario!

Liz, So true! There is something to be said about being a professional!

Thanks Rich, Every person who works with consumers should show their best side and dress appropriately!

I got a call yesterday from in front of one of my listings from a buyer that was waiting for their agent, that was supposed to be there an hour earlier. (OUCH!)

Yes it works for anyone who has set an appointment whether personal or professionally Chris!

Todd, I have been that person waiting as well, long before I became an agent. Another agent was supposed to meet me at the house 15 minutes goes by and another 15...I called and she said, OH! I didn't think you'd show! Oooookay!

Wanda - Love it!   I just heard tell about some agents who dress in sloppy clothes, and messy hair for their clients, and the person who told me about it was appalled!   I would be, too!

Great post!
