Sometimes, Paying It Forward Is As Easy As Talking!

Pay It Forward Bracelets

The other day we had a trade man at our home doing some work for us;
it seems like we have had a stream of trade men this year actually.

Anyway we chatted with the man as he did his work.
He told us about his life in his homeland and how he came to be in our country. We watched his eyes fill with hope and his animated expressions as he told us of his dreams and aspirations he hoped to accomplish here, in his 'new' country.

When his job was complete, he thanked us for taking the time to listen to him and in his words, being nice people.

After the trade man left, we wondered, how many people take the time to talk to the people who are doing work for them?
If not, why not? We probably will never see this man again, he may never cross our minds again either, but he was another human being and he was in our home.

Al and Peggy - No doubt many homeowners do their best to AVOID conversations with trades....but you could learn a lot from them!    Where was the man from...?

Hi Al & Peggy, well, if I can pay it forward by talking, let me pay it forward with you .... LOL... how the heck are ya????

Taking a moment to learn a bit about someone, letting them tell their story is very easy to do and it makes us all feel a bit better!

Hey kids, being courteous to people we encounter is never out of style, even if it's someone that we are paying to work for us.

Al and Peggy, to see each and every one around us as a human being, and to appreciate them for who they are, that is the challenge that you manage to accomplish in your life...

Actual conversation with the help? Great idea to reach out, funny how those who come here another country love to talk to us, if we let them.

Thanks Al and Peggy.

Al & Peggy, I've always been curious about other people and have had many conversations just like the one that's the subject of this post.  It's really surprising what you can learn about people if you take the time to ask questions and listen.
