If that's what it took to support my family, I'd sleep in the Walmart parking lot or in a ditch.  But for anyone with a little money, being homeless can be eliminated with the purchase of a tent, sleeping bag, camp stove, portable shower, and a gas lantern.

Home-in-a-trunk at Walmart:  $400

Income and self-respect that comes with having a job:  Priceless

John, I agree with you. I've never heard of the Home-in-a-trunk. I am going to have to check that out!

Keisha - To answer your question, "NO!!!", I wouldn't give up my home for a six figure salary in ND.  However, I'm not unemployed though either.  Being unemployed and having a family to support (no kids - just me & hubby and the three fur babies), I strongly suspect would change my perspective.

Keisha - Reminds me of Hoover's tent cities during the Great Depression. No one wants to decend into poverty through unemployment.  If it meant living in an RV on the Walmart parking lot to earn 100K or have no income and live on welfare, I'd take the RV at Walmart.  I feel blessed that I'm not in that situation.

Hi Donne and Gail, we should all thank our lucky stars that this is only a hypothetical question for any of us.
