Underwater Mortgage Refinance

By
Mortgage and Lending with Alpine Mortgage Planning

Today, President Obama announced some changes to the current Home Affordable Refinance Program or HARP. The goal is to allow more of the 10 million homeowners that are currently underwater to refinance at todays low rates. The current program will not allow you to refinance if your mortgage balance is currently 25% higher than what the home is worth. Under the new program those barriers will be lifted, which will help a lot more people, especially those who live in areas like Las Vegas, where the value has dropped more than 50%. Also, there will be less fees, which can often defeat the purpose of refinancing altogether. The exact terms of the new program are yet to be released, but at least we know that help is on the way for so many that need it in the economically challenging times. Give me a call and see how I can help save you money today!

Issac,  That sounds like good news to the many people who are underwater.  I hope this helps.  It's so much better for the neighborhood if the owners can stay in their home and take care of itl

I agree that there needs to be a way out for normal people who are making their payments and just are victims of what's going on around them.
