Hi folks. As you know, I'm new to this Disney Vacation Club (DVC) resale stuff so I'm trying to learn how these Disney Vacation Club Memberships work. Here's what I learned today. DVC is based on a point system. You buy into the Disney Vacation Club by purchasing points. Once you have points you can use them at any of Disney's 5 resorts in Orlando. Or you can use them at their resorts in Hilton Head Island SC and Vero Beach Fl.

Now here's where it get goods. You don't have to use all your points at the same resort. Think about that for a minute. This means you could take a week, or more, vacation and spread it around.

For example, let's say you live in NJ and have a week or so of vacation time. You want to go to a golfing resort, the kids want to go to Disney World and the wife wants nothing more than to go lay on the beach and work on her tan for a week. Now in a normal situation we know who is going to win this little battle. The wife!!! So even though you busted your butt all year to finally get some down time you will be spending it at the beach playing miniature golf with bored kids driving you crazy. Sounds like fun doesn't it?

But......if you belonged to the Disney Vacation Club you could do this: Spend 2 nights and 3 days in Hilton Head playing golf while the wife sits in the room and sulks. Then head on down to Disney World in Orlando for a few days and take the kids to see Mickey Mouse while the wife sits in the room and sulks. Finally, you could head over to Vero Beach for a few days and let the wife lay out on the beach and work on her tan. In fact, be a good husband and buy her some of those wrap around mirrored sun glasses so she can check out all the good looking guys on the beach. No more sulking.

So there you have it, an adventure packed vacation built around what everyone in the family desires. Sounds perfect doesn't it?
